J-Channels are designed to receive siding panels and must be installed around all windows, doors, along shingles at roof line, etc.
Water runoff can also be accomplished by making a series of notches and tabs in the J-Channel.

Diverters should be used at the base of all openings.
This will divert water from the J-Cannel into the siding butt and force the water to come out in the very first course of siding that the water comes to.

Our idea for waterproofing your gable trim is second to none.
First we install the siding and insulation, and then the rake board laps down over the siding. This guarantees that no water will get in at the rake. Also, we drill every rake board to insure good expansion and contraction. This helps eliminate ripples. Others typically trim the rake board first and then place a J-Channel up against the rake board. Sometimes they caulk it, sometimes they don't. |

We cut holes in the soffit as needed to give you added ventilation.
